2008 July > Family Fun Day Open House! Newmarket residents were treated to a Family Fun Day Open House held at Bales Drive Operations and York Region Waste Centre this past month and it was a blast for the whole family! This fun filled event included a charity BBQ, classic York Regional Police cars, snow plows, garbage trucks, an ambulance, buses and other work vehicles, free rides on Viva buses (including through a bus wash!), tours of the sign shop, maintenance garage and waste management centre, EMS displays and CPR demonstrations, crafts for kids and free giveaways. Mascots Pylon Pete, Parry the Paramedic and Toby the Littlest YRT bus even came out to make an appearance! What a great and fun way to find out what your town does for you!
