Newmarket to announce Olympic Torchbearer
Newmarket residents gathered at Upper Canada Mall to watch Mayor Tony Van Bynen, Newmarket Council and the Olympic Torch Celebration Committee reveal Newmarket's Torchbearer for the 2010 Olympic Torch Relay. Newmarket resident Clare Kowaltschuk will carry the Olympic Torch on December 18th as it passes through Newmarket. Clare is an avid sports fan and is very passionate about the Olympic Games. As an active member of the community she can be seen around town with her husband Adam and her son Nathan. Her struggle with Breast Cancer has been a long battle, but it hasn't stopped her from fulfilling some of her life long dreams. Congratulations Clare, you are an inspiration to all of us!
