Kigami Biraki at Brad Jones Karate-Do
Celebrating the New Year, in martial arts style, means "kigami biraki" at Brad Jones Karate-Do, and many were out to take part in the festivities. Translated, kigami biraki means "wiping the mirror clean", and is an opportunity to begin again re-invigorated and ready for a fresh start. The celebration included martial arts demonstrations from members with a range of skill levels and abilities as well as Jiu-Jutsu and Aikido. Proud family members and friends watched as the martial artists embarked on a new start refining their skills and developing new ones. Everyone enjoyed a pot luck lunch together following the demonstrations - a wonderful way to kick off 2010!
